Ibn El Farouk is a visual artist living and working between Paris and Casablanca. After studying philosophy, he turned entirely to photography, which he has been exploring in an innovative way since the early 2000s. His work is characterized by an experimental approach that questions the limits and potential of the gelatin silver substrate.

Ibn El Farouk adopts a polymorphic approach, chemical treatment becomes an experience in itself. By deconstructing the traditions and processes of photography, he reinvents this medium by exploring the materiality and the creative process that accompanies it. His work questions the contemporary meaning of photography, through a constant dialogue between image, matter, and plastic fact.

His works are featured in several public and private collections, such as those of the National Library of France, Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Hassan II Foundation, CDG Foundation. Each of his creations reflects his unique approach, where photography becomes a reflection on its own essence
